Incident IQ - Creating a View of Assigned Classroom Devices

Modified on Thu, 07 Dec 2023 at 10:53 AM

This article outlines the process of using Incident IQ's "View" function to create lists of student devices based on their homeroom teacher. Start from step 5 if your view(s) have already been created.

1. Create a new View.

  • This can be done from the Assets Tab on the left-hand column, or at the top right of the Dashboard.

2. Add the filters listed below.

***NOTE: Use the search function when adding the filters.

  • Asset Status
    • EXCLUDE Not Returned 20-21, 21-22, and 22-23. (There is a checkbox at the bottom of the View Designer window for this when you select any filter option)
  • Location
    • EXCLUDE Special Education. (There is a checkbox at the bottom of the View Designer window for this when you select any filter option)
  • Teacher
    • Search for the desired teacher's name.
  • Class
    • ***Only necessary if the students are assigned a different teacher per subject (not applicable to most 4th grade teachers and below).
    • To find this, search for the teacher's profile in incident IQ, then select one of their homeroom sessions.
      • Copy the name of the homeroom session.
      • Return to the view designer to add this particular session to the class view.
      • You may have to type it in manually if it cannot find the class that you pasted.

Here is an example of what a properly filtered class looks like, without the class filter.

Here is an example of the Class filter being used.

3. Adjust filtered Columns in the next tab of the View Designer.

  • This can be done by preference, but I find the layout in the image below to be concise and easy to read.

4. Save your newly created view by pressing the blue save button in the bottom right corner of the View Designer window.

5. Begin exporting your view.

  • Select your view from your, and then select the more options button.
  • You will then see the "Export" button.

6. Adjust Sort Order in the Columns tab to sort by name.

  • It will default sorting by Asset Tag otherwise.

7. Select the Export button.

  • This will create an excel sheet that can be printed and manipulated as needed.
