Connecting a Chromebook to a Boxlight 3

Modified on Mon, 18 Dec 2023 at 01:45 PM

Follow the steps below to connect a Chromebook to a Boxlight Pro Color 3 (most grade 3-5 classrooms).

  • Make sure that you have the appropriate cable plugged into an available numbered HDMI port.
    • Most USB-C to HDMI cables or adapters will suffice. Please submit a helpdesk ticket requesting one if you do not have the appropriate cable.

  • Connect the cable into either of the Chromebook's USB-C ports.

  • On the Boxlight- change the HDMI input on the Boxlight to whichever HDMI port that the Chromebook is connected to.

  • On the Chromebook- press the 'ctrl' and 'monitor' keys at the same time to mirror the chromebook display to the Boxlight. (if it is not already mirrored)
    • Both displays will flash briefly if this is done correctly.

  • At this point, the Boxlight should be mirroring what is on the Chromebook's display and is ready to use.

If you have any trouble or questions please submit a helpdesk ticket and a member of technology will assist as soon as they are available.
