Setting Chrome as the Default Browser

Modified on Fri, 16 Sep 2022 at 09:30 AM

  1. Unlock your iPad and open up the Settings app.
    1. If it’s not in the recently used taskbar at the bottom of the screen, on the next page is a folder called “Apple” that contains it.
  2. Once in Settings, scroll down the column on the left side until you reach the individual app settings and select Chrome.
  3. After selecting Chrome, you will see the app settings on the right side of the screen. Select the Default Browser App setting.
    1. If Default Browser App is not an option, please update iPad to the latest iOS.
    2. If updating to the latest iOS does not resolve the issue, please speak to your building's student device point person, or submit a helpdesk ticket with the student's first and last name or the D87 Asset tag on the back of the device.
  4. Select Chrome from the list of browsers it displays.
  5. Finally, allow Cross-Website Tracking, and you're done!
    1. This is to allow Securly (our security web filter) to working properly.
